Count It

There are few things worse than running out of flour while baking cookies (an unmade bed, for example). But to be honest, I'm not much of a baker. I do, however, put marinara sauce on most things. And I make sure not to let my stockpile run out. Inventory is an important part of organization. An awareness of what you have, what you need, and what you're going to need soon. Here's where the obvious list comes in handy. If you're running low on something, WRITE IT DOWN! And buy it. Preferably when it's on SALE (if you're a bargain-hunter like myself). There's no need to buy 30 of something, either. Odds are that you don't have room for all of those ketchup bottles. Everything in moderation, my friends.

I can thank my father for instilling this one in me. He straight up takes inventory of groceries in our house. It's hard to get away with using up a brownie mix without him realizing it. But guess what. We never run out of stuff. And that is a happier, more secure lifestyle.
